Fiesta Red 'Veneer' Board '63-S
A true vintage replica of a 1963 S type. Handmade from scratch.
Two piece Alder body with vintage correct routes, curves and contours, finished in a super thin 100% nitrocellulose lacquer from the wood up, Fiesta Red over a Desert Sand undercoat, just like the originals.
Stunning master grade flame maple neck with a curved/veneer, vintage reserve, reclaimed Indian rosewood board. 7.25" radius board, Dunlop 6105 frets, very comfortable vintage C back profile, unbleached bone nut, dark aged clay dots with correct narrow spacing at the 12th fret.
Worn in 'greyed' edges and super lovely rolled fingerboard edges.. beautifully smooth and worn in, feels like a vintage instrument.
Aged single line Kluson machine heads.
Neck plate features correct serial number for this year in the correct font.
Tremolo, as used as standard is an exact vintage reproduction of the original pre CBS tremolos, made here in the UK and supplied to me by Mark Foley.
Handwound pickups by Radioshop ('63 Vintage Specials - demo of these pickups is on the demo page of my website).
All the usual vintage correct electric components; CRL 5 way spring loaded switch, CTS True Vintage Taper pots, Luxe red dime ceramic capacitor, Switchcraft jack, cloth wiring and correct shielding plate, all loaded onto a warped green guard with correct wide bevel.
Medium to heavy ageing, with wear and tear in all the right places.. plenty of lacquer checking and a low gloss finish.
Weight is 7.8 lbs. Set up with Curt Mangan Nickel wound 10-46 strings and supplied with a vintage style leather hardcase by Gator.
Plays like butter.. sounds like heaven!!
